McAuley College Beaudesert needed an AV system for their basketball hall that could handle three completely different use cases: morning assemblies at 8am, evening performances at 7pm, and game day at noon.
Oh, and it needed to survive basketball season.
Most AV systems are designed for one purpose. This space needed to do it all — without requiring an operator for daily use, without compromising on performance quality, and without breaking when a ball inevitably finds its way to the screen.
The solution: one system, three modes
We built a system that's simple when it needs to be and powerful when it matters.
- 3 x 100" Hisense Commercial Displays
- Perspex protection on every screen, because physics happens
- Strategic placement for visibility across the entire hall
- dBTechnologies 15" point-source speakers with horns for even coverage
- Yamaha DM3 digital mixer with Dante capability (16 inputs / 8 outputs)
- 4 x wireless microphone systems
- App-based control for teachers, full mixer access for events
- 7" Extron touch panel, rack-mounted for security
- Two operational modes that transform the space
How it works
The build
Clean racks. Smart cable management. Professional installation scheduled around school activities.
Every component integrated. Every detail considered. Every use case covered.
The system was fully commissioned, EQ'd for the space, and staff trained on both modes of operation.
Why it matters
Assembly mode at 8am. Performance mode at 7pm. Game day at noon. One system that never misses a beat.
This is what happens when AV design meets real-world demands. Not just capable of handling multiple use cases — built specifically for them.
McAuley College now has a space that works as hard as their students do.
